The Cinque Terre Region on Italy's western coast is comprised of a group of five tiny fishing villages characterized by the colorful houses built into the rock and spilling down the cliffs to the sea. No vehicles are allowed, visitors must make their way by train or boat. Walking paths allow access between villages .
